Cincinnati Police Officer Kills Pedestrian

The Ohio State Patrol is investigating the death of a woman who was killed after being hit by a police cruiser in Cincinnati.

Authorities say that a police officer was patrolling the Washington Park when he hit 48 year-old Joann Burton who was lying on grass underneath a blanket on Tuesday.

It is not standard protocol for police officers to drive on the grass of the park.

Although she at first only appeared to have suffered minor injuries, she died at a nearby hospital due to complications from the accident.

Authorities recently revealed that Marty Polk was the officer driving the police vehicle. The officer is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation and has been placed on administrative leave.
