Can I file a comlpaint against my landlord for personal injury?

I was walking down the stairs leading to the laundry room and slipped on some water on the stairs. Fell and severely sprained my ankle and broke my foot. Can I file a complaint against my landlord for personal injury?

Was the water on the stairs the result of carelessness by the landlord? If so you have a case. But you must come up with a reason why the landlord was careless. If some other tenant dropped a water bottle on the way to the laundry and didn't clean it up and the landlord didn't know about the water on the floor, it is hard to see what the landlord did wrong. I'd be happy to talk to you about the specific facts ofyour case to see if you have a good claim.
